The Jester (2021)

I added sound effects, self-made stilts and a lighted mask to this costume.

I had previously made the stilts out of of 2x4s and 2x6s. I stapled rubber to the bottom so they wouldn’t slide and I screwed and old pair old sneakers to the tops so I could keep my feet in place.

After choosing this costume, I bought green and black felt to wrap the stilts and make them blend in with the costume better.

I also wore a backpack under the costume that had a powered speaker and an Adafruit sound board in it. I soldered wires to the sound board and connected them to 2 different triggers/buttons that I wired through my sleeves and down to my hand. Each button played a different sound effect based on how scary I wanted to be. The buttons were also wired into my mask which would light up.
